'People are fearful' - the reasons 'powerhouse' Arsenal are the side to defeat.

There's little doubt why Arsenal stand as countless pundits' preferred choice to claim the Premier League during this term.

Consider their outcomes against Fulham and Crystal Palace versus those same matches in the previous campaign.

The Gunners have defeated all of them this time around, but lost 10 points across those games as they dropped off in the title race last season.

Defensive Dominance

Arsenal's backline resilience is a primary factor why they are appearing strong to at last realize their title goal.

They lead the league for clean sheets (6), goals allowed (3), opposition efforts (72), shots on target faced (19) and expected goals against (5.3).

The central defensive pairing of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the best in the league, with Arsenal maintaining a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Set-Piece Proficiency

Their effectiveness from free kicks is highly documented, but opposition teams still find it difficult to contain the Gunners from these situations.

They have notched 11 times from set-pieces in the league, several additional than any other side, with 69% of their goals coming from these situations.

"Arsenal can perform multiple roles now. The whole team has a fear factor. People are just wary of them and it is wonderful to see."

Championship Claims

What is especially remarkable about Arsenal's commencement to the campaign is they have also played Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United on the road and Manchester City in their own stadium - and are still four points clear at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their traditional rivals are struggling. This marks the first time at this stage of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The expectations was on manager Mikel Arteta at the outset, having allocated around £250m on eight summer signings in pursuit of that coveted first title since 2004.

But the spending has so far proven successful in impressive fashion, with his side one of the most prolific attacks in the league and possessing the tightest defense, despite several injuries.

  • Shutouts in three straight Premier League games
  • Over six hours without letting in a goal
  • Only a trio of goals in 12 games across various contests

Former players and analysts have labeled Arteta's men as a "unstoppable force, looking difficult to stop" with the whole club now operating with confidence and purpose.
